Police are appealing for information following a robbery in Swindon yesterday (1/10).
A 16-year-old boy was on a push bike in Drakes Way, near the junction with Marlow Avenue at approximately 5.20pm when he was approached by approximately three youths who were also on push bikes.
The group threatened the victim with violence and demanded he hand over his backpack.
The group made off with the backpack which contained personal items including college ID, school books and keys. The college ID was found a short time later in Somerville Road.
One of the suspects is described as being aged approximately 17, 6 ft tall, with blonde hair and no facial hair. He was wearing a black hooded top with the hood up.
A second suspect is described as slightly older, just over 6 ft tall, of skinny build, with short black hair and a thin dark beard and thick moustache. He was wearing a blue coat and black tracksuit bottoms.
PC Sam Thomas said: “Fortunately, the victim was not injured but he was understandably very upset as a result.
“Drakes Way is described as being quite busy at the time of this incident so it is possible that there are witnesses to what happened, or there may be people who were in the area at the time who may have seen the group involved either before or after the robbery took place.
“I’d be really keen to hear from these people, as well as anyone who can provide dash cam footage which may have captured footage which could help our investigation.”
Anyone with information should call 101 and quote crime reference number 54200099027.
