A 21-year-old man has died after being stabbed on Hillingdon Street in Kennington, South London, on Monday night (April 14). Emergency services were called to the scene at around 9.15pm, but despite rapid medical intervention, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that no arrests have been made and a murder investigation is now underway.

Emergency Response
According to the London Ambulance Service, first responders arrived within four minutes of the emergency call. Resources dispatched included an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car, an advanced paramedic, and London’s Air Ambulance.

“Our crews treated a man at the scene. Sadly, despite the best efforts of emergency responders, he died,” a spokesperson confirmed.
Ongoing Investigation
The crime scene on Hillingdon Street remains cordoned off, with officers guarding a residential property inside the police tape. A forensic tent has been erected, and investigators were seen entering a block of flats throughout the day.

Detectives have yet to formally identify the victim, and efforts are ongoing to trace the suspect.

This latest killing comes amid a surge in knife-related violence across the capital. Just last week, seven people were stabbed in a 48-hour period, highlighting growing concerns over youth safety and street crime.
Residents in Kennington have expressed shock and sadness, with one witness telling reporters: “We heard shouting and then saw flashing lights. It’s heartbreaking. This is becoming all too common.”

Authorities are urging anyone in the area who may have seen or heard anything suspicious, or who may have CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage, to come forward and assist with the investigation.
