A third man has been arrested as part of a Metropolitan Police investigation into a series of arson attacks targeting properties and a car reportedly linked to Labour Party leader Sir Keir Starmer.
The 34-year-old suspect was detained in Chelsea on Monday, 19 May 2025, on suspicion of conspiracy to commit arson with intent to endanger life, according to a statement from the Met.
The arrest comes just days after a 26-year-old man was taken into custody at Luton Airport on Saturday under the same suspicion.
The investigation centres on three arson incidents, including fires at two properties and a vehicle. These attacks have been classified as potentially life-endangering.
Ukrainian Man Already Charged
Roman Lavrynovych, a 21-year-old Ukrainian national, has already been formally charged with three counts of arson with intent to endanger life. Lavrynovych, who resides in Sydenham, southeast London, appeared in court on Friday.
During police interviews, he denied the charges, but was remanded in custody pending a further hearing at the Old Bailey on June 6.
Police have not yet confirmed the full nature of the alleged link between the attacks and Sir Keir Starmer, but the incidents are being treated with the highest level of seriousness.
Ongoing Investigation
The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that the investigation is active and ongoing, with further arrests not ruled out. They continue to appeal for information and ask anyone with relevant details to come forward.
Sir Keir Starmer has not commented publicly on the matter.
