Schoolboy Fights for Life After Bus Collision Near Peterborough School
A teenage schoolboy is in a critical condition after being struck by a bus while walking to Queen Katherine Academy in Peterborough on Monday morning.
The incident occurred near the Shell garage on the A15 Werrington Parkway, shortly before 8:20am. Emergency services responded swiftly, including crews from Cambridgeshire Police, the East of England Ambulance Service, and a response vehicle from Magpas Air Ambulance.

The boy was stabilised at the scene and urgently transported to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, where he remains with life-threatening injuries.
Bus Driver Arrested
Police have confirmed that the bus driver was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. Officers are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Police said:
“We were called at about 8.20am today (23 June) with reports of a collision between a bus and a pedestrian on the A15 Werrington Parkway, Peterborough.
Emergency services attended and the pedestrian has been taken to Addenbrooke’s hospital with life-threatening injuries.”
Community Shocked
In a statement, Queen Katherine Academy said:
“We are shocked and saddened to learn that one of our students was seriously injured after being hit by a bus near the Shell Garage on the A15/Lincoln Road.
They are being treated for life-threatening injuries, and we are in close contact with them and their family.”
“We know students may have witnessed the incident, and we are ensuring they are supported with counselling and pastoral care.”
