Man Hospitalised After Assault on Walworth Road, Southwark
A man has been arrested following a violent assault on Walworth Road in Southwark early this morning.
At 7:24am, officers from the Metropolitan Police and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service were called to the scene after reports of a serious assault on the busy South London road.
One Man Injured
A 40-year-old man was found with injuries at the scene. He was taken to hospital for further treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing, police confirmed.
Arrest Made
A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH) and remains in police custody while enquiries continue.
A crime scene remains in place on Walworth Road, with local officers carrying out further investigations.
Witness Appeal
The Metropolitan Police is urging anyone who witnessed the assault or has relevant information or footage to come forward.
