A police car collided with a Tesla near Aerodrome Road and the A41 in north-west London, sparking backlash from local residents who claim officers were driving recklessly.
Incident Overview
The collision occurred on Wednesday afternoon near the busy Aerodrome Road junction, with multiple eyewitnesses confirming that a police vehicle with sirens activated struck a Tesla while emerging at high speed from a side road.
Social media, particularly Facebook community groups, has been flooded with criticism of the police’s driving.

Eyewitness Reports
Susie Freeman, who said she was in her car next to the Tesla when it was hit, wrote:
“A speeding police car with siren suddenly came from the side road and hit the Tesla next to me… The female police officer who was driving the police car was very dazed when she got out. It was 100% the police at fault.”
Another local, Carleanne O’Donoghue, added:
“I’ve nearly been front-ended so many times when they’ve been flying up the wrong side of the road. Turning traffic isn’t gonna see them until the last minute.”
C.H. Biu questioned police practices more broadly, claiming:
“They always switch on the siren and drive at dangerously high speeds… then switch it off and return calmly to base. It’s ridiculous.”
Traffic Disruption
Several drivers reported being caught in the resulting tailbacks, which coincided with the school run.
Anonymous participant 773 said:
“There are like 6 police cars and multiple officers standing around chatting to each other while we are all fuming in the queue.”
Police Response and Public Concern
It is currently unclear whether the Metropolitan Police have acknowledged fault in the incident. No serious injuries were reported, although one commenter noted the female officer appeared dazed following the crash.
A member of the public asked: “So did the police admit that was their fault or not?”
Met Police have not yet issued a formal statement. UKNIP has reached out for clarification.
