Tragic Incident As Xl Bully Dog Shot Dead At Primary School Grounds

A distressing incident unfolded in the village of Brisley in Norfolk, as a woman was attacked by her own XL Bully dog in her back garden. The shocking event occurred at 3pm on Monday and prompted a swift response from local authorities.

Police were called to the scene after receiving reports of a woman in her 60s screaming for help during the attack. Upon arrival, they discovered the woman being mauled by the animal. The dog managed to escape from the house on Gately Road and made its way to the car park of a nearby primary school, where pupils and teachers were still present.

Efforts were made to locate and secure the animal, and it was eventually found in the car park, where someone had managed to secure it to a post. Police attempted to contact veterinarians to seek assistance in sedating the dog, but unfortunately, none were available to attend the scene.

Considering the threat posed to the wider public and with the permission of the owners, the police made the difficult decision to destroy the dog. A police spokesperson stated that this action was taken in the interest of public safety.

XL Bully dogs, which are a breed known for their muscular build and strength, are under scrutiny following a series of maulings, some of which have resulted in fatalities. In response, the government has announced plans to ban American XL Bullies.

The victim of the attack is currently recovering at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital from multiple injuries, fortunately, none of which are life-threatening. Inspector Diana Woodage expressed the sadness and distress surrounding the situation. She highlighted the challenging circumstances faced by the officers upon arrival, as they witnessed a woman being viciously attacked and in evident pain.
