Sussex Shoplifter Sentenced to Four Months

A man has been sentenced to four months’ imprisonment for a shoplifting spree across Sussex. Adam Gibbs, 33, of no fixed address, was jailed following a series of thefts in Worthing, Eastbourne, and Broadwater.

Gibbs appeared before Crawley Magistrates’ Court on 6 June, where he admitted to three separate incidents of shoplifting. On 4 February, he entered The Range on Ham Road, Worthing, and stole a tool valued at £59.99.

Sussex Shoplifter Sentenced to Four Months

In another incident on 30 March, Gibbs targeted HMV in The Beacon, Eastbourne, where he attempted to steal a selection of vinyl records. Store staff recovered the records before Gibbs could leave with them.

The final theft occurred on 5 June at the Co-op on Cricketers Parade, Broadwater, where Gibbs stole several food items. The stolen goods were recovered, and Gibbs was subsequently arrested.

Gibbs admitted to all charges and was sentenced to four months’ imprisonment for his actions, underscoring the seriousness of his offences.
