Storrington Man Remanded in Custody for Brighton Firearm Incident

A man has been charged with firearm, theft, and assault offences following a disturbance at an address in Brighton.

Police officers were called to Dale Crescent, Brighton, on Monday, 17 June, after receiving reports of a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers located and arrested a man nearby who was in possession of a firearm, which was later identified as an imitation.

Storrington Man Remanded in Custody for Brighton Firearm Incident

On Wednesday, 19 June, Mark Mercer, 38, of Spierbridge Road in Storrington, was formally charged with two counts of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, as well as theft and assault.

Mercer appeared later that day at Brighton Magistrates’ Court, where he was remanded into custody. His next court appearance is scheduled for 17 July.
