Woman Should be Made to do the Walk of Shame over Poppy Box Theft from Portmsouth Pub

Customers of a Portsmouth pub this afternoon have condemned the theft of a charity box that was stolen from their local last night. The image and video of a woman taking the Poppy Appeal box from the Park Tavern in Commercial Road has been circulated on social media and shared several thousand times. Andy said, “It’s shown on CCTV her cutting the string of the charity box which was tied to the bar, putting it under her coat and then leaving the premises. “It’s not right. Nobody should take from charity.” Andy explained that he noticed the missing charity box when he came in this morning to clean the bar. He said, “I phoned my staff member who was on last night and asked if she moved it. She said no so I watched the CCTV and it showed at 10.30 last night, this woman stealing the poppy box. “Hopefully she will be prosecuted. She’s got to be stopped.  She may have gone to other pubs. “I am putting the money back out of my own pocket because it was on my premises, I should have kept it more secure but how far do you go with it? Chain it up? Lock it down so people can’t see it to put money in it?” Customers have also expressed their anger calling for her to do a ‘walk of shame’ across the Guildhall on Remembrance Sunday. Dean Pollen said, “All of Portsmouth will be down there for the commemoration and will see this woman walk across the Guildhall Square. “That will hurt her more than a magistrate giving her a slap on the wrist and saying don’t do it again.”   https:///youtu.be/X8ugxMXbXyA
