Police are  appealing for witnesses following an incident of arson in Milton Keynes.

At around 3.20pm on Monday (12/10) the victim a 29-year-old woman, was at home with two of her children when an unknown man appeared at the door of a property on Temple, Stantonbury. When the victim asked what the man was doing he left the front door stating he was at the wrong address.

Shortly afterwards there was a loud bang and orange smoke at the front of the property. The victim evacuated the house into the garden whilst neighbours assisted in attempting to put out the fire before the fire service arrived on scene.

The offender is described as a white man, around 5ft 5ins tall, average build, short light brown messy hair and was wearing a face mask. He was wearing blue tracksuit bottoms with white stripes down the leg and a white jumper.

Investigating officer Detective Inspector Jason Simpson based at Milton Keynes police station, said: “This was a frightening experience for the victim and their family who were fortunately uninjured.

“I would like to speak to anyone who may have details about this incident. I am particularly keen to speak to a member of the public who was with his children at the time and assisted with putting out the fire. It is believed he was wearing a green/black jacket.
