Man charged after making threats and attacking Police officers in Croydon

Detectives investigating an incident in South Norwood in which two police officers were injured have charged a man.

Alec Lemard, 36  of Douglas Road, Preston, has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm, actual bodily harm and making threats to kill, as well as two public order and one racially aggravated public order offences.

Lemard will appear at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on 23 July.

The charges follow from an incident at an address in Clifton Road, Croydon, on 21 July.

Police attended after reports a man was making threats to residents inside the address. Two officers required hospital treatment for their injuries.
