Woman facing attempted murder charge after Pensioner attack

The suspect of an attempted murder in Canterbury is due to appear in court. Detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate launched an investigation after a woman in her 70s was found with serious injuries at a property in Bekesbourne Lane, Canterbury on Monday 12 August 2019. Officers were called to the address at around 11.20pm where the victim reported being assaulted by a person known to her. She suffered injuries consistent with stab wounds and was airlifted to a London hospital, where she remains in a serious but stable condition. Patrols located 49-year-old Olivia Moat nearby in Littlebourne Road and arrested her in connection with the incident. On Tuesday 13 August 2019 the Crown Prosecution Service authorised a charge of attempted murder against Olivia Moat of Brymore Road in Canterbury. She has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 14 August 2019.
