Man left with Broken Back following collision on the Isle of Wight

Police are appealing for witnesses following a road traffic collision on the Isle of Wight which left a motorist with a broken back. Were you driving along Beaper Shute just before 11am on Valentine’s Day? If so, you may have information that can assist the Police with their investigation into a collision involving a blue Porsche 911. A 41-year-old man was driving a Porsche 911 on Beaper Shute,heading towards Ryde,at around 11am on Sunday when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed. The driver had to be extracted from the car by firefighters and he was taken to St Mary’s Hospital where he was diagnosed with a broken back. Police Constable Lucinda Critchlow said: “At the time of the incident there were numerous other vehicles using Beaper Shute, which is a busy main route in and out of Ryde. “We are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the Porsche driving prior to the incident or who witnessed the crash itself, to come forward as they may have information which could assist our investigation.” If you have any information or witnessed the crash please  contact the Police on 101   quoting: 44160066257
