Migrant Jailed After Forcing Himself on Suicidal Mother in Hull

A 26-year-old asylum seeker has been jailed for sexually assaulting a suicidal mother in Hull after forcing an unwanted kiss on her and attempting to use his tongue — in a disturbing early-morning encounter.

Zayed Alanzi, who was residing at the Royal Hotel, a known asylum accommodation site in Hull, reportedly followed the distressed woman before grabbing her cheeks, kissing her against her will, and shoving his tongue into her mouth.

Victim Distracted Attacker to Protect Teen Girl

The woman, who had been struggling with suicidal thoughts, fought him off and later told officers she feared he might target a teenage girl nearby. She said Alanzi “would not take no for an answer.”

“I told him I wanted to be left alone on numerous occasions,” she told officers, according to The Sun.

Police arrived shortly after the incident, which took place in the early hours of April 28.

Alanzi Denied Wrongdoing

In his defence, Alanzi claimed the kiss was consensual and that he was trying to “help” the woman. However, the court rejected this version of events.

Despite being married, Alanzi was found guilty and sentenced to 12 months in prison, though it is understood he could be deported after serving just half of his sentence.

He has also been:

  • Ordered to pay £187 in costs
  • Placed on the Sex Offender Register

Community Tensions Growing

This latest conviction comes amid rising public anger and protests across the UK over alleged misconduct involving asylum seekers.

Just last week, violent protests erupted outside The Bell Hotel in Epping, another site used for housing asylum seekers. Demonstrations followed the arrest of Hadush Gerberslasie Kebatu, a 38-year-old Ethiopian man, who was charged with multiple sexual offences, including:

  • Three counts of sexual assault
  • One count of inciting a girl to engage in sexual activity
  • One count of harassment without violence

Kebatu has denied all charges and is currently awaiting trial after his appearance at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on July 10.

Wider Impact and Political Pressure

The Alanzi and Kebatu cases have intensified public debate around:

With further protests planned, including a potential mass mobilisation in Epping led by far-right activist Tommy Robinson on Sunday, 27 July, tensions remain high.

Police are urging calm and reaffirming their commitment to impartial law enforcement.
