Edmonton Councillor Under Police Investigation Over Sexual Assault Allegations

Thomas Fawns, an Edmonton councillor suspended by the Labour Party, is under investigation by police following multiple sexual assault allegations, including one claim of rape, UKNIP has confirmed.

Fawns, who was elected in May 2022 to represent Upper Edmonton, was suspended by Labour in February 2024 after the party was notified of the allegations made by three women. He has since continued to sit as an independent councillor and remains active on Enfield Council, including as a member of the planning committee.

Police Confirm Investigation Ongoing

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson confirmed the force is conducting an active investigation, but as of now, no arrests have been made and no charges have been filed.

UKNIP understands that the alleged offences date back to between 2011 and 2016.

Labour Statement and Council Status

A spokesperson for London Labour said:

“This is subject to an ongoing police investigation and we are unable to comment further at present.”

While suspended from the party, Cllr Fawns has continued to attend council meetings and is currently listed as an independent on the Enfield Council website.

No Comment from Councillor

Thomas Fawns has not responded to repeated requests for comment regarding the allegations or the ongoing investigation.
