Woman sustained serious injuries in a collision in Wootton

Police are appealing for witnesses after a Wootton woman sustained serious injuries in a collision on Friday, December 2. The 59-year-old pedestrian was in collision with a silver Toyota Avensis on the High Street in Wootton just before 8.40pm. She was taken to St Mary’s Hospital with leg, arm and shoulder fractures. The driver, a 32-year-old man from Sandown, was uninjured. PC Dominic Green said: “I am appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward, particularly the driver of a car-derived van that passed the scene within seconds of the incident.” Anyone with information should contact PC Green on 101, quoting 44160454917.
