Authorities are seeking information after a woman was subjected to a serious sexual assault within a hotel in Coatbridge. The incident occurred at approximately 2am on Sunday, 15 October, at an establishment on Main Street.
The victim, a 44-year-old woman, was assaulted by a man believed to be in his 40s. He is described as approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, of medium build, with short light brown hair. At the time of the assault, he was wearing dark jeans, dark shoes, and a blue zipper top with white trim around the collar.
Detective Inspector Lorraine Wilson has appealed to the public for any information that may help in establishing the full circumstances surrounding the incident. The woman had been at a bar on Main Street earlier in the evening of Saturday, 14 October, before heading towards a nearby taxi rank where she encountered the assailant. Authorities are urging individuals who witnessed or heard anything of relevance in the area to come forward with any information they may have.
