Wiltshire Police Charges Man with Murder in Swindon Incident
Witness Appeal Following Burglary in Trowbridge

A tragic incident in Swindon has led to the charging of a man with murder following the death of another individual.

The authorities were alerted to an address in Westbourne Court at approximately 1 am yesterday (25/02) after receiving reports of a serious assault. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man in his 50s who had sadly succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Today, Grant Walker, aged 32 and a resident of Faringdon Road, Swindon, has been formally charged with murder. This decision comes after a rapid and thorough investigation conducted by the Force’s Major Crime Investigation Team in collaboration with local policing units.

Additionally, Walker faces a charge of assault on an emergency worker.

He has been placed in custody and is scheduled to appear before Swindon Magistrates’ Court tomorrow morning (27/02) to address the charges against him.

Detective Inspector Hatch, the investigating officer, expressed his condolences to the family of the victim, acknowledging their cooperation and support throughout the investigative process. He emphasized that the thoughts of the law enforcement community remain with the bereaved family during this challenging time, and they continue to receive assistance from specially trained officers.
