Violent Altercation in Halifax Town Centre Leaves Three Injured

In the early hours of Saturday, June 22, police responded to a violent altercation in Halifax town centre. The incident, which unfolded on Commercial Street, left three men injured and prompted an urgent investigation.

At approximately 1.20am authorities received a report that a 26-year-old man had been assaulted by another male wielding a glass bottle. The victim sustained a puncture wound to the neck, described as serious but not life-threatening. He was rushed to the hospital for immediate treatment.

Further inquiries revealed two additional victims. A 38-year-old man suffered injuries to the face and leg, while a 52-year-old man sustained a facial injury. Both men received medical attention and have since been discharged.

The exact circumstances leading up to the altercation are still under investigation. However, preliminary information suggests that the incident began on Clare Road, continued onto Ward’s End, and culminated on Commercial Street. A significant police presence was established in the area, resulting in road closures at the junction of Clare Road and New Road.

Authorities swiftly apprehended a 38-year-old suspect, who remains in custody pending further investigation.
