Two individuals have been hospitalized following an alleged assault on a security guard in Penge, prompting a swift response from Officers from the Met Police and emergency medical services.
Officers were summoned to a supermarket located on Croydon Road shortly after 8:10 pm yesterday (May 12) in response to reports of shoplifting. Upon arrival, London Ambulance Service crews were also dispatched to the scene, where they discovered two injured individuals.
Both victims received immediate medical attention from ambulance crews before being transported to a hospital for further treatment. As of now, their current conditions remain unknown.
A woman was subsequently apprehended by authorities on suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH) and shoplifting in connection with the incident. The identity of the supermarket involved in the altercation has not been disclosed.
A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service provided further details, stating: “We were called at 8:11 pm yesterday (May 12) to reports of an assault in Croydon Road, Penge. We sent two ambulance crews and two paramedics in fast-response cars to the scene. We treated two patients at the scene and took them to the hospital.”
