Police were called to the River Thames on Saturday, February 10, following two separate reports of bodies being recovered from the water, sparking investigations into the tragic incidents.
The first call came in at approximately 10:13 am, alerting authorities to the discovery of a man’s body near the HMS Belfast. Officers swiftly responded to the scene and recovered the body from the river. Efforts are now underway to confirm the man’s identity and notify his next of kin. The death is currently being treated as unexpected, pending further inquiries by law enforcement.

Shortly after, at 10:39 am, police received another call reporting the recovery of a man’s body from the water in Limehouse, E14. Once again, officers responded promptly, and the body was retrieved from the river. Investigations are ongoing to establish the identity of the deceased and inform their next of kin. Like the earlier incident, this death is also being treated as unexpected pending further investigation.
Authorities have stated that there is no indication linking either of these tragic occurrences to the investigation involving Abdul Ezedi, the suspect in a separate case.
The discovery of these bodies highlights the challenges and dangers associated with bodies of water in urban areas. Police are urging members of the public to exercise caution near rivers and waterways and to report any concerns or incidents promptly.
As investigations into these incidents continue, updates will be provided as information becomes available. Anyone with information relevant to either case is urged to contact the authorities to assist in their inquiries.
