A quiet evening walk turned into a nightmare on January 9, 2024, when a 28-year-old woman and her two dogs lost their lives in a horrific hit-and-run incident. The suspected driver, a 17-year-old boy, has been arrested and bailed on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision.
The heart-wrenching incident unfolded at approximately 7:23 pm on the A10 Cambridge Road in Edmonton. The woman, whose identity has not been disclosed, was out for a peaceful stroll with her two beloved dogs when tragedy struck. A car struck the trio, leaving them in dire need of immediate medical attention.
Responding swiftly, Metropolitan Police officers, the London Ambulance Service, and London’s Air Ambulance rushed to the scene to provide critical assistance. Despite the valiant efforts of paramedics and law enforcement, the 28-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries at the accident site.
Family members of the victim have been notified of the devastating loss and are currently receiving support from specially trained officers. The two dogs, loyal companions to their owners, also lost their lives in the tragic accident.
Police are now actively seeking more information about the incident and the individual responsible for this heartless hit-and-run. Detectives are particularly interested in speaking with the driver of a red Audi who was in the vicinity of the collision when it occurred.
The Serious Collision Investigation Unit has issued an appeal to the public for assistance.
