Totland family escape injury after dishwater blaze

A family have escaped injury after a fire ripped through a property this evening. Fire fighters from Freshwater and Newport were called to tackle the blaze on Church Hill on Saturday evening just before 11pm. The fire is understood to have started in a dishwasher and spread to cupboard and other parts to the kitchen. Firefighters committed into the property wearing breathing appurtus used a hose reel beat down flames stopping the fire spread to other parts of the property.
