Third Suspect Charged in Murder of 16-Year-Old Boy in Edmonton

Detectives investigating the tragic murder of 16-year-old Taye Faik in Edmonton have made significant progress in the case. A third suspect, a 16-year-old girl identified has been charged with his murder. Taye Faik was fatally stabbed on October 1, 2023.

The teenager, who cannot be named due to her age, was initially arrested on November 3, 2023, and subsequently released on bail while further investigations were conducted. However, she now faces charges of murder in connection with Taye Faik’s death.

She is scheduled to appear in custody at the Old Bailey on Friday, January 5, 2024.

The investigation began after authorities received a call at 11.27pm on October 1, 2023, reporting a stabbing at Kendal Gardens. Despite the prompt response of emergency services, Taye tragically lost his life at the scene. A post-mortem examination conducted on October 4, 2023, determined that Taye’s cause of death was sharp force trauma to the chest.

Taye’s family has been notified of this recent development, and they continue to receive support from family liaison officers during this difficult time.

Prior to this arrest, two men had already been charged with Taye Faik’s murder:

Josiah James Semper, 18, of Cromie Close, N13, was charged on November 17, 2023.

Bernard Carroll, 20, of Church Street, N9, was arrested on November 6, 2023, and subsequently charged.

Both and are currently in custody, with their next court appearance scheduled for Friday, February 16.

Additionally, three individuals, a 20-year-old man, a 22-year-old woman, and another 22-year-old woman, was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offence and remain on bail as the investigation continues.
