Police in Wales confirmed this morning that three bodies were discovered during the search for five people who went missing after a night out in Cardiff.
Sophie Russon, 20, Eve Smith, 21, Darcy Ross, 21, Rafel Jeanne, and Shane Loughlin were reported missing following a night out and were last seen in the early hours of Saturday morning (March 4) in Llanederyn, Cardiff. Unfortunately, Gwent Police confirmed that the group’s missing car had been found after crashing off the A48 after a search.
Three of the car’s five occupants were killed in the crash. The three girls are thought to have spent time at Newport’s Muffler nightclub before going missing.

Anna Certowicz, Sophie Russon’s mother, told the paper that she had been frantically driving around Gwent and Cardiff yesterday (March 5) looking for her missing daughter. She now claims that police officers initially failed to take the disappearances seriously.

She told the Daily Mail: “They didn’t appear to mind. Because they were doing nothing, I had to drive to Cardiff and knock on doors myself. They simply did not appear to believe it was worthwhile to investigate. It was extremely aggravating.

They probably assumed Sophie was hungover, but she’s a sensible girl who works in a bank and hasn’t taken a day off in three years… She wouldn’t just disappear unless something was wrong.
Anna also claimed that when she called to report her daughter missing, cops told her to “stop ringing them,” and that the three missing women have been friends since they were children.
Friends of the three girls had previously stated that they had last seen them that night at the nightclub Muffler. They’d travelled in a Volkswagen Tiguan with two men, Shane and Rafel.
After a desperate weekend search, a police spokesperson confirmed on Monday that the VW Tiguan had been recovered just after midnight in Cardiff’s St Mellons area. Police believe the car was involved in a traffic accident and veered off the A48. The identities of those killed in the crash have not been confirmed by police.
According to a Gwent Police spokesperson, “We understand how upsetting it is when a loved one goes missing; we have seen media reports about this, and we will be working closely with the families involved to gather more information and address any concerns.
