The Driver Of The Hgv Stopped At The Scene And Is Assisting With The Investigation, And The Collision Is Still Being Investigated After Man Lost His Life

Police are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred in Maghull last night, July 10th.
Officers were called around 8.10pm after reports of a male pedestrian colliding with an HGV truck on Northway near the junction with Dodds Lane.
The man, who was in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene after paramedics arrived.
The man’s next of kin have been notified and are receiving assistance from specially trained officers.

Unfortunately, a man has lost his life as a result of last night’s incident,” said Sergeant Steve Smith of Merseyside Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.
Officers have launched an investigation into the collision and would like to hear from anyone who was driving along Northway last night and witnessed anything prior to or during the collision, or who believes they captured something on their dash cam, to contact us.”
