A restaurant on the ground floor and a flat on the first floor were both on fire. At this time, there have been no reports of injuries.

From the Fanshaw roundabout to Salisbury Avenue, Longbridge Road was closed.

Station Commander Steven Vydelingum, who was present at the time, stated: “Crews are working tirelessly to put out this fire. The area is congested due to the road closure, and motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.”

The Fire service was called at 7.24 p.m., and the fire was out by 8.57 p.m. Firefighters from Barking, Ilford, East Ham, Plaistow, and other nearby stations responded.

The fire’s origin is being investigated.
