Canterbury Man Charged with GBH After Sussex Avenue Assault

A suspected shoplifter has been charged after items of clothing, believed to have been stolen, were seized by officers in Ashford.

Patrols were called to the town centre at around 4.45pm on Tuesday 16 January following multiple reports of disturbances in the High Street.

A swift response from officers led to a woman being arrested and clothing, worth more than £100 and allegedly taken from a High Street shop, seized as part of an ongoing investigation.

Lucy Croxon, 24, of no fixed address, has been charged with theft and with using threatening and abusive language to cause distress. Ms Croxon was conditionally bailed and is due to appear before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on 1 February 2024.
