Serving police officer charged with an indecent assault

Thames Valley Police has charged a serving police officer in connection with an indecent assault.

James Chapman, aged 43, a sergeant based in West Berkshire Local Policing Area, was arrested on 17 September last year. He was charged via postal requisition today (17/4) with indecent assault on a girl under 14 years old.

The charge is in connection with an incident at a property in Oxford in 1991.

Chapman is due to appear at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on 21 May.
