Rescue operation in the English Channel off Fred Olsen’s Braemar Cruise Ship

A rescue operation has taken place in the middle of English Channel this morning off the Fred Olsen’s Braemar Cruise Ship The daring rescue from cruise ship was hampered by the rain and the weather This has created significant movement on the vessel which made the rescue a tricky operation. The Coastguard search and rescue helicopter took off from Lee on the Solent just after 12.45am on Wednesday to reach the ship that is approx 4 miles off Ventnor. Poor weather hampered The transit to the cruise ship that has now made it to the location. A spokesperson for the MCA said: At 11.50 pm the Coastguard received a call from the passenger ship Braemar requesting assistance for an unwell passenger. The Coastguard rescue helicopter airlifted the casualty to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Portsmouth where he is now receiving medical attention. The cruise ship is now understood to be resuming its planned course towards Rotterdam in Holland.
