Pregnant Driver Forced into Oncoming Traffic in Road Rage Incident
Man Assaulted with Crowbar in Bow: Two Arrested for GBH

A harrowing road rage incident left a pregnant driver in distress after she was forced onto the opposite side of the road, narrowly avoiding a collision with oncoming traffic. The incident occurred on Violet Hill in Mansfield at 5.39pm on Wednesday, June 5, 2024.

The victim, who is 38 weeks pregnant, was behind the wheel of a blue Volkswagen T-Cross when the altercation unfolded. She was travelling in a filter lane toward Oak Tree Lane when a male driver in a white Audi A3 refused to allow her to merge. Although their vehicles didn’t make contact, the aggressive manoeuvre forced her into the path of oncoming traffic.

Thankfully, no collision occurred, but the situation escalated further. The male driver reportedly wound down his window, hurling abusive language and making obscene gestures toward the pregnant woman. PC Sarah Clifton of Nottinghamshire Police expressed concern about the victim’s well-being, emphasising the alarming nature of the incident.

“As part of our inquiries,” PC Clifton stated, “we are appealing to any passing drivers who witnessed the altercation or may have captured it on dash-cam footage to come forward. The road was busy at the time, and we hope that someone can provide valuable information to aid our investigation.”

Anyone with relevant information is urged to contact Nottinghamshire Police at 101, quoting incident number 534 from June 5, 2024. Alternatively, individuals can provide anonymous tips by calling Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
