A collision between a stolen vehicle and an unmarked police car in East Dunbartonshire has left a police officer and three men injured. The incident occurred at the Canniesburn Toll roundabout in Bearsden on Saturday morning. All four individuals involved were transported to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for medical treatment.

The BMW car involved in the crash had been reported as stolen from Eaglesham in East Renfrewshire. Fortunately, none of those taken to the hospital are believed to have sustained serious injuries. The three men who were involved in the crash have been arrested in connection with the incident.

One line of inquiry being pursued by the police is that the stolen vehicle was travelling on the wrong side of the road. The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland provided details, stating that they received a report of a car theft in Gilmour Street, Eaglesham, at approximately 6.35am on Saturday, July 1, 2023. The stolen car was later involved in a collision with an unmarked police vehicle at the Canniesburn Toll area in Bearsden, Glasgow.

The three men, aged 32, 29, and 20, along with the injured police officer, were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. Thankfully, their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. The three men have been arrested in connection with the incident, and investigations are ongoing.

Due to the ongoing inquiries, the roads surrounding the Canniesburn Toll Roundabout remain closed. Authorities are conducting thorough investigations to gather more information about the incident and its aftermath.
