Police Investigate After Woman’s Body Found in Kings Mill Reservoir

Police have launched an investigation after a woman’s body was discovered in Kings Mill Reservoir, Sutton-in-Ashfield.

Officers were called to the scene at around 11am today after a member of the public spotted a body in the water. A large police cordon remains in place as forensic work and inquiries are carried out.

Detective Inspector James Oakton of Nottinghamshire Police said:

“We are working to understand how this woman came to be in the water and are currently treating her death as unexplained.
As our investigation continues, we would like to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything unusual in the area over the past few days.

Anyone with information is urged to call 101 quoting incident number 529 of 5 May.

The investigation is ongoing and further updates are expected as officers piece together the circumstances surrounding the death.
