The victim of a tragic fatal stabbing in Brixton has been identified by police as 21-year-old Ronaldo Scott. Authorities are actively investigating the incident while offering support to Scott’s grieving family.
The distressing incident unfolded on Monday, September 4, when officers were summoned to Morrison Road, SW9, following reports of a stabbing. At 12:08, police and the London Ambulance Service rushed to the scene, where they discovered a man with severe stab injuries.
Despite the dedicated efforts of officers and paramedics, Ronaldo Scott was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. The loss of this young man has deeply affected the community, where he was well-liked and popular among residents.
Detective Chief Inspector Kate Blackburn, who is leading the investigation, stated, “We are in the early stages of our investigation and have a number of lines of enquiry we are undertaking, including extensive CCTV collection in the local area. Ronaldo was a popular, well-liked man, and his death will be felt throughout the community. My thoughts are with Ronaldo’s family and friends.”
In response to this tragic murder, a Section 60 Order has been authorised for the London borough of Lambeth. This order provides the police with additional stop and search powers and will remain in effect until 13:00 on September 6, 2023.
Detective Chief Superintendent Seb Adjei-Addoh, the Borough Commander for Lambeth, expressed his condolences, stating, “Another young man has lost his life to knife crime, and my thoughts at this time are with Ronaldo’s family, friends, and our local community.”
Adjei-Addoh also acknowledged the impact of such incidents on the community and announced that officers from the Community Engagement team would be conducting patrols in the area to provide support and address concerns. He encouraged residents to reach out to these officers if they had any worries or information related to the incident.
