Police Hunt for Knife-Wielding Man Who Threatened Passenger at Croydon Train Station

British Transport Police (BTP) are seeking the public’s help to identify a man who threatened a passenger with a knife at Waddon railway station in Croydon. The alarming incident occurred on Friday, August 2, at around 5:45 am.

The male victim was waiting on the platform when he was approached by a man wielding a knife, who proceeded to threaten him. Thankfully, the victim was able to escape the area unharmed.

In connection with their investigation, detectives have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak to. In the image, the man appears to be wearing a navy long-sleeved t-shirt over an undershirt and has headphones, as well as what seems to be a chain around his neck.

BTP officers believe the man in the image may have vital information that could assist their inquiries and are appealing to the public for help in identifying and locating him.

Anyone who recognizes the man or has any other information related to the incident is urged to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 84 of 02/08/24. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously through Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
