Police charge man with Rape

Detectives investigating a report that a man attempted to rape a victim in Chatham have charged a suspect. The offence was reported to have taken place in Haig Avenue, Chatham, during the early hours of Tuesday 24 July 2018. The Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate has assessed the circumstances and on Thursday 2 August a man was arrested in Gillingham. On 4 August the Crown Prosecution Service granted authority for Kent Police to charge Edmas Milito, 23 of Canterbury Street in Gillingham, with attempted rape He appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on 4 August and has been remanded in custody to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on 31 August.
