Police are appealing for witnesses following an incident of indecent exposure near a children’s playground in Barnard Park, Islington.
The disturbing incident occurred at approximately 6:00pm on Saturday, 12 April, when a man reportedly exposed himself in view of others at the park, which is located in the N1 area of north London.
A member of the public quickly alerted authorities after witnessing the act. Officers from the Metropolitan Police responded to the call and arrested a man at the scene. He has since been charged in connection with the incident and remains in custody as the investigation continues.
The suspect is described as a white male, wearing a red jacket and dark trousers at the time of the incident.
Police Appeal for Information
Officers are now asking for anyone who was in the vicinity of the children’s play area in Barnard Park on Saturday evening and may have seen the incident—or who has other relevant information—to come forward.
A police spokesperson said:
“We understand the concern this incident may cause in the local community, particularly given the proximity to a children’s playground. We are committed to ensuring those responsible for such offences are held to account.”
