Paedophile Pleads Guilty to Sex Offences Involving a Child

Murabek Ali, a notorious Telford paedophile, has pleaded guilty to a series of sex offences involving a child. The 40-year-old, currently incarcerated at HMP Hewell, admitted to the following charges:

  1. Two counts of rape
  2. One count of trafficking for sexual exploitation
  3. Three counts of sexual activity with a child
  4. One count of indecent assault

The crimes occurred between 2004 and 2008 and targeted a girl who was just 14 years old at the time. Shrewsbury Crown Court heard the disturbing details of Ali’s actions.

Ali is no stranger to the justice system. He is already serving time in prison for a string of previous sexual offences. In 2012, he received a 14-year prison sentence following an investigation by West Mercia Police into child sexual exploitation in Telford, known as Operation Chalice.

Detective Sergeant Cindi Lee expressed her sentiments on the case: “This verdict brings some closure, but it can never fully compensate for the lifelong trauma suffered by the victim and her family. Ali is a highly dangerous individual who preyed on young girls, and his actions are incomprehensible.”

Lee also commended the victim’s courage in coming forward to report the crimes. She added, “Reporting crimes like these takes immense strength, and we stand by survivors throughout the court process.”

Ali pleaded not guilty to one count of sexual activity with a child and two counts of indecent assault, which will now lie on file. His sentencing is scheduled for Monday, May 20, at Shrewsbury Crown Court.
