Old Bailey Court in Central London Evacuated After Explosions and Smoke

Reports of fire and explosions have prompted the evacuation of The Old Bailey, London’s Central Criminal Court, on Wednesday morning (January 7). Details regarding the incident remain scarce, including whether there have been any injuries.

Videos shared on social media platforms depict scenes of London Fire Brigade (LFB) personnel working to extinguish flames as sirens blare in the background. Plumes of dark smoke billow into the air, with part of the court’s facade facing Warwick Square appearing charred.

People are being evacuated from the Old Bailey after a fire broke out. There is a fire on the ground floor of the central criminal court, and black, acrid smoke has been coming from the rear of the building.
