Officers Recovered A Stolen Land Rover Just Hours After It Was Stolen

Officers recovered a stolen Land Rover just hours after receiving a report of a burglary near Tonbridge and arrested five men.

The vehicle was one of two stolen from a Plaxtol property in the early hours of Monday, January 16, 2023. The burglary was reported to Kent Police at 8.30 a.m. the same day, and swift action led to the capture of one of the vehicles as it drove through the Blackwall Tunnel on the A2 towards London.

It was stopped by Kent and Metropolitan Police patrols around 3.20pm, along with a Nissan Navara that was travelling nearby. Five men in their twenties and thirties were arrested on suspicion of theft.

The second stolen Land Rover is still missing, and all of the suspects were later bailed to return to a police station as part of an ongoing investigation by West Kent CID.
