Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police are conducting investigations into a collision involving two vehicles and a possible kidnapping incident that occurred on the night of Saturday, January 6, 2024.

At 11:04 pm, authorities received a report of a collision between a white Ford Focus and a building. Simultaneously, a black BMW 1 Series collided with two pedestrians on Village Road, including a man in his 50s and a 16-year-old girl. Both victims were transported to the hospital for treatment but are reportedly in non-life-threatening condition.

Following the collision, two males, believed to be teenagers, exited the white Ford Focus and fled in the direction of Western Way. Around the same time, authorities received information that a man had been forcibly placed into a white vehicle on Ferrol Road. The white vehicle was then observed leaving the area while being pursued by a black car.

Law enforcement agencies are treating these two incidents as linked and are actively pursuing inquiries into the circumstances surrounding these events.

As part of their investigation, authorities have arrested a 26-year-old man from Gosport on suspicion of kidnap and causing injury by careless/inconsiderate driving, a 20-year-old man from Gosport on suspicion of conspiring to kidnap and causing injury by dangerous driving, and a 54-year-old man from Gosport on suspicion of conspiring to kidnap, causing injury by dangerous driving, and driving a vehicle while unfit through drugs.

Detective Inspector Hayley Church, leading the investigation, stated, “We are in the area today conducting CCTV and house-to-house enquiries; however, we need anyone that was in the Ferrol Road or Village Road area between 10:15 pm and 11:15 pm last night and saw anything suspicious to make contact with us.”

Authorities are urging anyone with information, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem, to come forward and assist with the investigation. This includes individuals who may have witnessed the events or captured footage on CCTV, Ring Doorbell cameras, or dash cams.

While these incidents are undoubtedly concerning, the police are working diligently to uncover the facts and identify those involved. Officers will be present in the area for further inquiries and to address any concerns or questions from the public.
