Missing Manchester Man: Ukrainian Authorities Discover Body As Search Continues

In a somber development in the search for missing Manchester resident Daniel Burke, Ukrainian authorities have informed Greater Manchester Police that they have located a body. The news comes after a month-long search effort for the 36-year-old man who was reported missing on August 16. Burke’s family, who had grown increasingly concerned due to his lack of communication, had reason to believe he had traveled to Ukraine.

Greater Manchester Police are now collaborating closely with both Daniel Burke’s family and their Ukrainian counterparts to support the process of identification and facilitate his return to the United Kingdom.

Detective Superintendent Lewis Hughes of Greater Manchester Police expressed the sadness of the situation, saying, “This is an upsetting time for Daniel’s family, we have family liaison officers in contact with the family and offering support. My team and I are working with the Ukrainian authorities to make formal identification with a view to repatriating Daniel following that process.”

While the discovery of a body is a heartbreaking development, the investigation will now focus on establishing formal identification.

During this difficult time, the family has requested privacy as they come to terms with the situation and await further updates from the ongoing investigation.
