Man to Face Court in West London Murder Case

A man has been charged in connection with the murder of a 70-year-old woman. Clifford Cowen, 57, of Kensington Park Gardens, NW11, will appear before Wimbledon Magistrates Court this Friday, facing allegations of murder after the death of Rita Fleming.

The grim discovery was made after police responded to a call on Sunday, 23 June, at an address on Golborne Road, W10, where they found the body of Ms. Fleming. Authorities have since been in close contact with the victim’s family, offering support through specially trained officers during this distressing time.

Detained on the same day as the discovery, Cowen was initially released on bail pending further inquiries but was formally charged on Thursday, 4 July, after substantial police work.

While specific details of the investigation remain confidential, it has been disclosed that Cowen and the victim were acquainted.
