Man taken to hospital whilst sixty firefighters tackle house blaze

Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters tackled a house fire on Crescent Road in Woolwich. Part of the first floor and half of the roof is alight was damaged by fire A man left the property before the Brigade arrived. He was suffering from smoke inhalation and was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews. The London Brigade was called at 6.33pm and the fire was under control by 8.28pm. Fire crews from Plumstead and surrounding fire stations were at the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
