Man in Prison for Christmas after Drugs and Knife Recovered

A 21-year-old man was imprisoned for Christmas after being sentenced for offences in Middlesbrough.

Denis Tokar, of Surrey Street in Middlesbrough, was sentenced on Friday 22nd December to 24 months in prison.

On 23rd November this year, Tokar was found in possession of crack cocaine estimated to be worth around £740 on Ayresome Street, after patrols were carried out by Proactive Team officers.

On 3rd December, Tokar was again stopped by officers and was searched on Parliament Road, where he was found in possession of a lock knife.
Sergeant John Sproson said: “We are pleased that Denis Tokar was sentenced and wasn’t able to cause misery to our local communities by selling drugs on the streets of Middlesbrough over the Christmas period, and won’t be able to do so whilst he serves his prison sentence.
“Anyone who has concerns about drug dealing in our communities is urged to contact Cleveland Police on 101, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously so that action can be taken.”
