A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a domestic disturbance occurred at a property on Riddings Road in Timperley, Trafford, on Sunday afternoon. Police were called to the scene at approximately 2.30pm in response to the reports.
Emergency services swiftly arrived, and they discovered a man in his 80s in a critical condition. He was immediately transported to a hospital for treatment, but unfortunately, despite the efforts of medical professionals, he tragically passed away shortly thereafter.
A 50-year-old man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody for further questioning. The Greater Manchester Police’s Major Incident Team is leading the investigation and working diligently to establish the full circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
Detective Inspector Lee Shaw, from GMP’s Major Incident Team, expressed condolences to the family of the deceased, assuring them that Family Liaison Officers are providing support and keeping them informed of any updates.
While the news of this incident may have shocked and concerned the community, Detective Inspector Shaw emphasized that it is believed to be an isolated event, and there is no current search for any additional individuals involved.
