A significant fire has erupted at a takeaway in Keighley, West Yorkshire, with several individuals currently “unaccounted for.” Firefighters are battling the blaze, which quickly spread to the flats above the establishment.

Around 70 firefighters were called to the scene on North Street at around 9.20am on Saturday 15 July.

The fire prompted the evacuation of residents residing in the affected flats. However, the fire service has expressed concern as there are still individuals who remain unaccounted for, and efforts are underway to locate and ensure their safety.

Dozens of firefighters are currently at the scene, working diligently to extinguish the flames and prevent further spread. The emergency services have requested that drivers avoid the area to facilitate the smooth operation of their operations.
