Leanne Hodgson Pleads Guilty to Violent Disorder

Leanne Hodgson, 43, of Holborn Road, Hylton Lane Estate, has pleaded guilty to violent disorder following a viral incident in Sunderland.

Footage of Hodgson pushing a large bin towards a line of police officers during recent unrest was widely shared on social media, resulting in global attention and ridicule of her removal business in Sunderland.

Police arrested Hodgson at her home the following day, and the arrest was broadcasted by mainstream media. The exposure led to her removal van being vandalised with the word “RATS.”

John Garside, prosecuting, said, “There was a large crowd cheering and joining in. She was arrested at her home address.”

Hodgson has been remanded in custody and will remain there until her sentencing on September 2nd.
