Authorities have launched an investigation following an incident where an ambulance car collided with a set of railings in Abbey Wood.
The vehicle was found embedded in metal fencing at the bottom of Bostall Hill yesterday (April 8), prompting a swift response from emergency services. Images from the scene depict a police cordon surrounding the wreckage, situated outside Abbey Wood Funeral Care.
London Ambulance Service was summoned to the scene at 12:46 pm to assist with the aftermath of the crash. Fortunately, no individuals required medical treatment as a result of the collision.
Confirming the incident, a spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service stated, “We were called at 12:46 pm on Monday (April 8) to reports of a London Ambulance Service vehicle being involved in a road traffic collision at the junction of Basildon Road and Bostall Hill, SE2. We sent an incident response officer.”
The spokesperson added, “No patients required treatment as a result of the collision.
It has been disclosed that the ambulance car was responding to an emergency call at the time of the incident. London Ambulance Service has initiated an internal investigation to ascertain the cause of the collision.
As the investigation progresses, authorities urge anyone with relevant information regarding the circumstances of the collision to come forward and assist in the inquiry.
